I bought the book after reading the sample and was impressed with the author and the price was great.The book takes place during the Vietnam war, where the main character is "transported" to a fantasy realm. There, the people are looking for a hero, which he is supposed to be. The author does good work in developing the hero and other characters in the book and setting the background. For me personally this book was great but could have gotten better with a introduction of a few more characters as only a few where really introduced during Part one. I would still recommend it if you like fantasy, its a great read.
Hopefully the author releases the second part soon!

The pace and story development were made for an enjoyable read I liked the plot and pace of the story

After reading the first two reviews of this book, I went into it with high hopes. However, I must admit, I was sorely disappointed. The idea of someone being transported from "our" realm into one of fantasy certainly isn't knew, but it's a genre I enjoy. The concept of this book is decent, but it falls far short in execution. The reason is mainly the dialogue. Conversations between characters jump between the author trying to sound Shakespearean and just awkward. It really ruined the book for me. I found myself repeatedly asking myself, "Who would actually SAY this to someone?" Overall, the author may improve with some practice and experience under his belt, but I'd recommend anyone pass on this attempt.
It is a good story and I can't wait for the sequel.
Took too long for just one thing to happen in the story. Would have like to see more character development also.
An Elven prince is on a quest to find a hero. He prays to and is heard by Odin who delivers to him a soldier of Earth, Zebo. who is apparently killed in Viet Nam heroically avenging the death of his best friend. How Zebo adjusts to his new world makes for a great story. Unfortunately, it seems to end in the middle of the story so we must anxiously await part two.
It took 37% of the book to actually get to the fantasy world which was frustrating to me since the time spent on Earth was just one scene to another without any real feeling put into the story. Without giving away spoilers, it read to me like a summary of a story rather than an actual story. I'll make up a story to illustrate Joe the hero meets some bad people who want to steal his money but he tells them to leave him alone or they will be sorry. They attack him and he beats them up. Then Joe meets a girl and she really likes him. They talk and become really good friends. The end. Now, that is not the story and maybe I'm being a little harsh, but that was the way I felt when I read Twilantia. I never really cared for the characters as everything just seemed to happen without development or suspense or intrigue. It read like something written by a teenager and maybe young boys may enjoy this, but I wouldn't recommend it to adult readers.
